BrandMentions' AI Insights feature intelligently identifies and explains spikes in mentions and reach, helping you understand why your brand is being talked about.
They're meant to help you not just see what is being said about your brand (or competitors), but to understand trends, sentiment, emotion, and opportunities in a more nuanced way.
Where to Find It:
Navigate to the Mentions & Reach tab on your Mentions or Analytics tab. When a spike in activity is detected, BrandMentions automatically analyzes the context and surfaces insights directly on the chart.
How to use it:
Click on the spike icon to view the insight
Select View Mentions to see the specific posts, articles, or discussions contributing to the spike
Use this data to adjust messaging, identify opportunities, or respond to emerging trends
What It Does:
When a significant increase in mentions occurs, BrandMentions uses AI to:
Detect the cause of the spike
Summarize the context (e.g., industry events, media coverage, algorithm updates)
Highlight relevant entities (e.g., your brand, competitors, partners)
Provide a clickable link to "View Mentions" for deeper exploration
Why AI Insights Matter / What Value They Bring
Saves time: Rather than manually reviewing thousands of mentions/posts, AI can surface what matters (e.g. negative sentiment toward a product, or conversation trends) more automatically.
More nuanced understanding: Knowing how people feel (emotion, strength) and towards whom exactly (entity-level) gives richer feedback than just “positive/negative/neutral” or total mention counts.
Better decision‑making: Helps with strategy (what to fix, what to promote), content ideas, crisis management, product improvements, etc.
