How Can I View Top Websites and Publications by Visits?

Updated over a month ago

The Top Sites by Visits feature in the BrandMentions Analytics section helps you identify which websites and publications are sending the most traffic to the pages where your brand is mentioned.

By understanding which domains contribute the most visibility, you can measure the true impact of your online presence, optimize media outreach, and focus on high-value placements that strengthen your brand authority.

How to View Top Websites and Publications by Visits

You can easily access and analyze your top-performing sites directly from your BrandMentions Analytics dashboard.

  1. Go to the Analytics or Sites Section:
Depending on your project configuration, open either the Analytics dashboard or the Sites tab to access website-level data.

  2. Find the “Top Sites by Visits” Chart:
Locate the table or chart labeled Top Sites by Visits. This displays a ranked list of websites where your mentions appear, sorted by the estimated number of visits those pages receive.

  3. Review Mentions and Traffic:
Each entry shows the website name, the number of mentions, and the estimated visits to those pages. Higher visit counts indicate greater potential exposure.

In the example above, websites like wikipedia.org, msn.com, and indeed.com lead in estimated traffic volume. Mentions on these sites have significantly higher visibility compared to others lower on the list, such as tripadvisor.com or leboncoin.fr.

Why Tracking Top Websites by Visits Matters

The Top Sites by Visits feature helps you move beyond simple mention counts to measure impact. Here are some ways this data can guide your strategy:

  • Measure PR and Media Outreach Effectiveness:
Mentions on high-traffic domains like news outlets, professional networks, or industry blogs indicate that your PR efforts are reaching large audiences. This helps evaluate the success of media campaigns.

  • Discover New Outreach Opportunities:
You may find unexpected websites generating meaningful traffic for your brand. These can become new targets for relationship-building or future content collaborations.

  • Inform Content and SEO Strategies:
Analyze which types of content on top-performing sites attract large audiences. Identify common themes, keywords, or formats and use them to refine your own SEO and content strategy.

  • Strengthen Strategic Partnerships:
High-traffic sources that mention your brand regularly are valuable potential partners. Consider collaborations, co-marketing efforts, or sponsored content to expand your reach further.
