How Can I Set Up Slack Alerts for My Team?

This integration delivers real-time notifications straight to a chosen Slack channel, ensuring that your entire team has instant visibility into new mentions and can collaborate effectively to manage your brand’s online presence.

Setting up Slack alerts in BrandMentions takes only a few moments. Follow the steps below to connect your account and configure alerts for your team.

Step 1: Connect Your Slack Account

Before creating Slack alerts, you must connect BrandMentions to your Slack workspace.

  1. Go to Account Settings
    In your BrandMentions account, open Account Settings or the Integrations section.

  2. Find the Slack Integration Option
    Locate the Slack integration and click Connect.

  3. Authorize the Connection
    You will be redirected to Slack. Choose the workspace you want to connect, then click Allow to authorize BrandMentions.

Once connected, Slack will appear as a notification channel option whenever you create or edit alerts.

Step 2: Create Your Slack Alert

  1. Open the Alerts Section
    From your BrandMentions dashboard, click Alerts in the left sidebar.


  2. Create a New Alert
    Click + New Alert at the top of the page.

    In the alert configuration window, choose Slack from the list of available notification channels.

  4. Choose a Slack Channel
    A dropdown list will appear with the public channels in your connected workspace. Select the channel where you want your alerts delivered.

  5. Configure Alert Details
    Choose your project, apply any filters, and set your preferred frequency (real-time, daily, or weekly).

  6. Save Your Alert
    Click Save. Your Slack alert is now active, and new mentions will automatically appear in your selected Slack channel.

  • Create a Dedicated Channel
    Avoid clutter in your main communication spaces by using a specific Slack channel for alerts, such as #brand-mentions, #social-mentions, or #pr-alerts.

    Encourage your team to discuss specific mentions using threaded replies. This keeps conversations organized and makes it easier to follow key discussions.

  • Combine Slack Alerts with Segments
    For better targeting, set up alerts for specific mention segments.

    • Example: A #crisis-alerts channel for negative mentions.

    • Example: A #positive-mentions channel for influencer shoutouts or brand wins.
