What Are AI-Suggested Keywords and How Do I Use Them?

Updated over a month ago

AI suggested keywords in BrandMentions help you discover new, relevant keywords for your brand monitoring projects. Instead of guessing which terms people use when they talk about your brand, products, or industry, you let AI scan your existing data and propose smart keyword ideas.

What are AI suggested keywords?

AI suggested keywords are keyword ideas that BrandMentions AI identifies as relevant to your project based on:

  • The keywords you already track

  • The mentions those keywords bring in

  • The common phrases, brand names, hashtags, and concepts that appear around them

For example, if you are tracking "BrandMentions", the AI might suggest:

  • "social media monitoring"

  • "brand tracking"

  • "online reputation management"

  • "media monitoring tool"

These suggestions help you:

  • Capture more ways people refer to your brand or use case

  • Discover related topics and pain points

  • Reduce blind spots in your monitoring setup

How to use AI suggested keywords

The exact labels in the interface may vary, but you can usually find AI suggested keywords in your Project settings, in the section where you manage your keywords.

Typical steps:

  1. Open your project

  2. Go to Project settings on the Keywords section

  3. Look for a "Recommended related keywords via AI" button

4. Review the suggested keywords

You will see a list of keyword ideas that the AI thinks are relevant to your project. For each suggestion, ask:

  • Is this term clearly connected to my brand, product, or industry?

  • Would mentions containing this term be useful for my goals?

  • Is the term too broad or too generic, for example just "marketing" or "software"?

You can choose to:

  • Add the keyword to your project

  • Ignore the keyword if it is not relevant

5. Monitor impact and refine

After adding AI suggested keywords:

  • Give the project some time to collect new mentions.

  • Check your Mentions and Analytics to see what the new terms bring in.

  • Keep the keywords that give you valuable mentions.

  • Remove or adjust those that bring mostly noise.

By regularly reviewing and using AI suggested keywords, you can keep your BrandMentions projects comprehensive, up to date, and aligned with real user language, while saving time on manual keyword research.
