How can I edit an existing project?

Updated over a week ago

You can change your project settings anytime to keep your monitoring accurate and up to date.

1. Open Project Settings

  1. Log in to your BrandMentions account.

  2. From the dashboard, find the project you want to update.

  3. Click the Setting section (βš™οΈ)

2. What You Can Edit

In the Project Settings panel, you can:

  • Add or remove keywords

  • Change sources (social media, news, blogs, forums)

  • Select languages and countries

  • Retrieve historical data

  • Turn real-time monitoring on or off

  • Adjust sentiment analysis terms

  • Rename or delete your project

3. Update Keywords

Add new words or phrases to track, remove old ones, or fine-tune results with:

  • Exact Match (track only the specific word)

  • Broad Match (include related terms and variations)

  • Case Sensitive (match exact capitalization)

You can also add:

  • Required words that must appear in a mention

  • Excluded words to filter out irrelevant content

4. Adjust Sources, Languages, and Countries

Turn on or off the sources you want to monitor.
Select or exclude specific countries or languages to match your audience.

5. Manage Real-Time Monitoring and Sentiment

If your plan supports it, enable Real-Time Monitoring for instant updates.
You can also add your own positive and negative keywords to improve sentiment accuracy.

6. Save and Re-Run Your Project

After making changes, click Save.
A prompt will ask if you want to:

  • Reanalyze existing mentions, or

  • Apply changes only to future mentions

Choose your option and confirm. It may take a few minutes for updates to apply.

Best Practice

Make all your edits before re-running the project so it updates smoothly and completely.

Editing projects helps keep your monitoring relevant as your brand evolves β€” ensuring you always get the most accurate insights.
