Yes, you can monitor mentions in a specific language using BrandMentions. Limiting your monitoring to one or more languages helps you focus on the conversations that truly matter to your market or audience.
Follow the steps below to set it up.
How to Monitor Mentions in a Specific Language
- Log in to your BrandMentions account.
- From your Dashboard, open the project you want to edit or create a new one.
- Go to Project Settings → Languages & Countries.
- Under Languages, select the language or languages you want to monitor. - By default, BrandMentions tracks all languages.

- (Optional) Under Countries, choose one or more regions if you want to narrow your results further.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Your project will now collect mentions only in the languages you have selected.
Why Monitor Mentions in a Specific Language
Monitoring mentions by language helps you:
- Filter out irrelevant mentions written in other languages.
- Improve data accuracy and analysis.
- Focus on sentiment and trends in a particular market.
- Track local campaigns or region-specific discussions more effectively.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Even when filtering by language, make sure your keywords are relevant and specific enough to avoid unrelated mentions.
- Selecting only one or two languages may reduce the number of mentions collected.
- If you monitor multiple markets, consider creating a separate project for each language. This makes your data cleaner and easier to analyze.
To monitor mentions only in a specific language, open your project’s Languages & Countries settings, select the desired language, and save your changes.
This simple adjustment keeps your project focused, accurate, and aligned with your target audience.
