BrandMentions allows you to customize which sources are monitored for each project. By activating or deactivating specific sources, you can focus your monitoring efforts on the platforms that matter most to your business and reduce noise from irrelevant channels.
Why Customize Your Sources?
Not every source is relevant for every brand or monitoring goal. Customizing your sources helps you to focus on the platforms where your audience is most active and where the most valuable conversations are happening. For example, a B2B software company might want to focus on LinkedIn and industry blogs, while a consumer brand might prioritize Instagram and TikTok.
Additionally, by deactivating sources that are not relevant to your monitoring goals, you can improve the quality of your data and make it easier to analyze your mentions.
How to Activate or Deactivate Sources
To customize which sources are monitored for your project, follow these steps:
1.Navigate to your project and click on the Settings tab in the left sidebar.
2.Click on Sources in the settings menu.
3.In the Sources section, you will see a list of all available platforms with toggle switches.
Each source has an ON/OFF toggle switch. Simply click the toggle to activate or deactivate a specific source:
•ON (Purple): The source is active and BrandMentions will collect mentions from this platform.
•OFF (Gray): The source is inactive and BrandMentions will not collect mentions from this platform.
Available Sources to Toggle

•X (Twitter)

These sources are particularly useful for businesses that want to monitor customer reviews and ratings.
Saving Your Changes
