The Title Filter allows you to search for mentions where specific words or phrases appear in the title of an article, blog post, or video. This is one of the most effective ways to locate content that is directly focused on a particular topic, rather than mentions where your keyword appears only briefly within the text.
By filtering mentions by title, you can quickly identify highly relevant, high-intent content such as feature articles, detailed reviews, or dedicated discussions about your brand, product, or competitors.
How to Use the Title Filter
The Title Filter is available as an Advanced Filter option within your dashboard. It lets you specify the keywords that must appear in the title of the mention.
Access Advanced Filters
In the right side of the Dashboard, open the Advanced Filters options.
Find the Title Filter
Locate the input field labeled “Title” or “Search in Title.”
Enter Your Keywords
Type the words or phrases you want to search for within the titles of mentions.
For example, entering “BrandMentions review” will display only mentions with that phrase in the title.
Once applied, your mentions feed will refresh to show only results where the entered keywords appear in the title field.
Tips and Best Practices
Find Feature Articles and Reviews
Use the Title Filter to locate in-depth articles, product reviews, or thought pieces focused on your brand or offerings. Searching for your product name in titles often reveals the most comprehensive and valuable coverage.
Identify High-Intent Mentions
Mentions that include your brand or keyword in the title are typically more relevant and influential. These are high-quality mentions worth prioritizing for engagement, outreach, or performance tracking.
Track Competitor Coverage
Search for your competitors’ names in titles to monitor their media coverage and PR activities. This helps you stay informed about how competitors are being positioned in your industry and can guide your own communication strategies.
Combine with the Source Filter
For more precise results, combine the Title Filter with the Source Filter.
For example, search for your brand name in titles from News sources to uncover recent press coverage or product announcements.
Conclusion: Focus on the Mentions That Matter Most
The Title Filter helps you cut through general mentions to find the ones that carry real significance and visibility. By isolating mentions where your keywords appear prominently in the title, you can uncover the most relevant, high-impact content about your brand or competitors.
When paired with other filters such as Source, Sentiment, or Reach, the Title Filter becomes a powerful tool for analyzing brand perception, media visibility, and content relevance ensuring your focus remains on the mentions that truly influence public awareness.
