Profiles Filter - Show Mentions from Selected Profiles

Updated this week

The Profiles Filter allows you to view mentions from a curated list of specific social media profiles or authors. This is an effective way to monitor a defined group of individuals or organizations such as brand ambassadors, key influencers, competitors, journalists, or customers.

By creating and applying profile lists, you can generate a dedicated feed of mentions from the people or sources that matter most, making it easier to track engagement, partnerships, or competitive activity in one place.

How to Use the Profiles Filter

Using the Profiles Filter typically involves two main steps: first, creating a profile list, and then applying that list as a filter within your Mentions Dashboard.

  1. Create a Profile List
In your BrandMentions settings, open the section for managing “Social Media Profiles”. Add here the the pages you want to track.

  2. Apply the Filter
Once your list is ready, go to the Dashboard and locate the Profiles filter under Advanced Filtering section. Select the list you want to apply, and your feed will automatically update to display only mentions from the profiles selected.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Track your brand ambassadors
Build a profile list of your official ambassadors or partners to monitor their activity, ensure consistent brand messaging, and evaluate the performance of your influencer program.

    Monitor a panel of experts
Create a list of industry thought leaders or journalists to stay informed about discussions, emerging trends, and insights shared by authoritative voices in your field.

  • Competitive tracking
Maintain a private list of your competitors’ social media profiles to track their content, campaigns, and audience engagement strategies. This provides valuable context without needing to follow them publicly.

  • Customer feedback monitoring
Add your most active or influential customers to a profile list to keep track of their feedback, identify advocates, and respond promptly to questions or concerns.

Conclusion: Focus on the Voices That Matter Most

The Profiles Filter helps you cut through the noise and focus on the people shaping your brand’s conversations. By curating and tracking specific lists of influencers, partners, competitors, or customers, you can manage key relationships, monitor brand advocacy, and stay informed about the most relevant discussions in your industry.

When combined with other filters such as Sentiment, Reach, or Interactions, the Profiles Filter becomes a powerful tool for relationship management, influencer analysis, and targeted engagement.
