How Can I Access Historical Mentions for My Project?

BrandMentions allows you to access and analyze historical mentions for up to 10 years your projects, helping you uncover valuable insights from past conversations. This feature provides a comprehensive view of your brand’s online presence over time, making it ideal for long-term brand health tracking, campaign impact analysis, and market research.

How to Access Historical Data

Accessing historical mentions is a simple process you can start directly from your Project Settings.

  1. Navigate to Mentions Dashboard
    From your main dashboard, open the specific project where you want to retrieve historical data. Click on the Get Historical Data button and you will be redirected to the Project Settings section.


  2. Locate the “Get Historical Data” Option
    Within the project settings, look for the Historical Data” option.


  3. Select the Desired Time Period
    Choose the time range you want to analyze. Available options usually include:

    • Last 3 Months

    • Last 6 Months

    • Last Year

    • Custom Period (set your own start and end dates)

  4. Initiate the Data Retrieval
    After selecting your desired period, confirm your request to start the process. BrandMentions will scan its archives and retrieve mentions of your tracked keywords from the chosen timeframe.

    Note: The retrieval time may vary depending on the amount of data and length of the period requested.

  5. View and Analyze Historical Mentions
    Once the process is complete, your historical mentions will appear in your Mentions feed. You can analyze, filter, and tag them just like your regular real-time mentions.
