How Can I Export Mentions to Excel for Offline Analysis?

Updated yesterday

BrandMentions makes it easy to export your mentions for offline analysis, custom reporting, or data integration with other tools. This feature is especially valuable for users who need to conduct deeper analysis, build visual dashboards, or share insights with teammates and stakeholders who don’t have direct access to BrandMentions.

How to Export Mentions

Exporting mentions from your project takes just a few simple steps:

  1. Filter Your Data

Before exporting, apply filters in the right sidebar to narrow down your dataset. You can refine mentions by:

    • Date Range

    • Sentiment

    • Source

    • Keywords

    • Tags

    • Reach or Interactions

Filtering ensures your exported file contains only the most relevant data for your analysis.

  2. Find the “Export” Button

In your Mentions Dashboard, locate the “Export” button typically found near the Import one, under the Mentions & Reach chart.

  3. Start the Export
Confirm your choice and start the export process. BrandMentions will prepare your file based on the selected filters. The generation time may vary depending on the size of your dataset. Once complete, you’ll be able to download the file directly to your device.

What Data Is Included in the Export

Your exported file will include all key data points for each mention, such as:

  • Mention URL

  • Source Website

  • Title or Page Name

  • Content Snippet or Excerpt

  • Publication Date

  • Sentiment (Positive, Negative, or Neutral)

  • Reach and Interactions (Likes, Shares, Comments)

  • Tags or Labels you’ve applied

This structure ensures that your exported data is comprehensive, well-organized, and ready for analysis or presentation.
