To manage your BrandMentions account effectively, it helps to understand exactly how your usage quotas work. Each subscription plan includes limits for key items such as mentions, projects, keywords, and team members.
This guide explains how each quota is calculated so you know what counts toward your limits.
How your BrandMentions quotas are calculated
Quota type | How it is calculated |
Mentions | The mentions quota is the total number of new mentions that BrandMentions can collect across all your projects within a single billing period. Every time the platform finds a new mention that matches the keywords in any of your projects, it counts as one mention toward your quota. |
Projects | The projects quota is the maximum number of projects you can have in your account at the same time. Each active project you create counts as one project toward this limit. |
Keywords | The keywords quota is the total number of keywords you can track across all projects. Every keyword you add inside any project counts as one keyword toward your keyword limit. |
Team members | The team members quota is the total number of users who can have access to your BrandMentions account. Each invited user with access counts as one team member toward this quota. |
Example of how quotas work
Imagine your plan includes:
10,000 mentions per month
5 projects
50 keywords
This means:
You can collect up to 10,000 new mentions across all projects during the current billing month.
You can have up to 5 active projects in your account at the same time.
The total number of keywords used across all projects cannot be more than 50.
Why understanding quotas matters
When you understand how quotas are calculated, you can:
Plan how many brands, products, or topics to track.
Avoid hitting your limits unexpectedly.
Decide when it is time to clean up unused projects or keywords.
See if upgrading to a higher plan would better match your monitoring needs.
By keeping an eye on how mentions, projects, keywords, and team members are counted, you can get the most value out of your BrandMentions subscription.
