The Match Strength filter helps you focus on the conversations most closely related to the brand, person, or topic you’re tracking. By assessing contextual relevance, it helps you separate direct mentions from broader references, so you can spend less time sorting through results and more time understanding what’s being said.
Start with High match strength to review your most relevant mentions, or explore Medium and Low for a broader view. All your collected mentions remain available in your dashboard; the filter simply puts you in control of what you see.
What is Match Strength?
Match Strength measures the contextual relevance of a mention to your tracked keywords. Mentions are categorized into three levels:
High: Direct, prominent, or highly relevant mentions of your tracked term.
Medium: Secondary or contextual mentions where your keyword appears alongside related discussions.
Low: Mentions with weaker contextual links or broader references.
How to Use the Match Strength Filter
Open your project dashboard and navigate to the Mentions section on the left sidebar.
Locate the Filters panel on the right side of the screen.
Scroll down to find the Match Strength section.
Click on High, Medium, or Low to filter your mention feed according to your preferred level of relevance.
How to Edit Match Strength Settings
You can customize how Match Strength identifies your mentions by fine-tuning your project's monitoring details:
Click the Pencil / Edit icon next to the Match Strength header in the right sidebar.
Under What You're Monitoring, update your entity Type (e.g., Brand / Company), Name, and Description.
Add specific details in the description (such as common name variations, official domains, or key figure names) to help the system better identify relevant mentions.
Click Save.
Note: Changing these monitoring details will automatically reclassify Match Strength and Sentiment for your existing mentions
