Yes. BrandMentions allows you to request and access older mentions for any keyword or topic using its Historical Data feature. This enables you to explore past conversations related to your brand, competitors, or industry provided that the data exists in BrandMentions’ extensive archive.
How to Request Older Data
- Choose the Project
Choose the project you want to retrieve historical data for and make sure it’s the one that includes the keywords you wish to analyze.

- Go to “Get Historical Data”
In your project settings, click the “Get Historical Data” option.

- Choose a Time Frame
Select a preset period (e.g., Last Year) or define a custom date range for example, data from five years ago.

- Start the Request
Confirm your selection. BrandMentions will search its archives and add all relevant historical mentions to your project feed.
What to Keep in Mind
- Data Availability: Results depend on whether mentions for that keyword were captured during the chosen time period.
- Keyword Popularity: Broader topics tend to have more historical coverage than niche or newly introduced ones.
- Specific Queries: Using very specific keywords or filters may limit the number of results, especially for older data.
For Very Old or Niche Requests
If you’re looking for data several years back or for a highly specific topic, it’s best to contact the BrandMentions support team so it can:
- Verify whether data exists for your keywords.
- Suggest keyword adjustments for better results.
- Assist with large or complex data pulls.
You can easily retrieve older mentions in BrandMentions through the Historical Data feature. Whether you’re conducting research, analyzing long-term trends, or revisiting past campaigns, BrandMentions gives you access to the data you need backed by one of the most complete and continuously updated archives available.
